The NRHC welcomes as members both individuals -- students, faculty, and administrators -- and institutions -- colleges, universities, foundations, and government agencies. Membership benefits include reduced registration fees at conferences, a year's subscription to the NRHC newsletter, and a printed copy of the NRHC membership directory.
Four types of membership are available:
- institutional
- affiliated faculty and staff
- affiliated student
- non-affiliated.
Institutional membership is $50 per year and includes membership for the institution's honors program director. Faculty, staff, and students affiliated with a current member institution qualify for affiliated membership: $20 per year for faculty and staff, $15 per year for students. Individual memberships for those who are not affiliated with a current member institution are $30 per year.
